C268
Corgi 268 The Green Hornet's 'Black Beauty'. Near mint plus/boxed, with packing. Spun wheel issue. With Instructions in Packet, scanners and missiles. From The New European Collection.
Notes
An exciting iconic T.V inspired Corgi model – typically harder to find than the James Bond models available during this period. Issued between 1968-72. This is a beautiful example in close to mint, all original condition. Beautiful delicate roof logo is intact. Note that the radiator closes securely (often these models are found with the radiator gaping slightly even when closed). Note too that suspension is present on all four wheels.
The all-important detailed roof transfer is complete and perfect.
Re the car’s gadgets i.e. front missile functions well. The boot opens when the lever is moved, although we have not tested the radar scanner function, since we do not want to break the rear wheel suspension. Testing it gingerly, has not released the spinner, however.
Little mark at either side of the radiator catch, couple of chrome flecks and occasional negligible dot to the paint finish.
This example comes with the Secret Instruction Packet which has been opened (a little creased now, but no tears). Inside, are the Instructions, three radar scanners and three missiles.
The very attractive inner card stand has lots of atmospheric graphics. It is in shop-fresh condition; absolutely crisp, bright and clean – with no wheel slot tears!
The outer box is crisp, clean and colourful looking shop-fresh! With card packing piece. Remarkable quality! Tiny wear only.
