Notes

One of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69.
This James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. It has a lustrous bright gold finish – a most attractive example which looks as if it has barely seen the light of day. We draw your attention to the brightness of the silver wheel spokes and even the exhaust, too!
Note the indicator light casting detail, not present on later issues. For more details on Corgi 261 generally, please do refer to our article (no. 5) by clicking the Blog link on our home page.

Suspension is fine on all four wheels. Original tyres are well-shaped save for one which has a light indentation (being extra, extra fussy here).
The plinth on which the model sits is complete with both pull-out end tabs. Vivid colours on crisp card. With "SECRET INSTRUCTIONS’ arrow on base. No tears at wheel slots. Couple of light creases.

The Instruction Packet looks like new and has never been opened (and certainly not opened and then re-glued back). Inside will be the important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders.
All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet will also contain the unapplied 007 badge, and the spare villain.

The 2nd issue outer box is most impressive with very vivid deep colours on crisp, undamaged card. Note that since it is 2nd issue there is shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face and a black border around the JAMES BOND’S lettering.
No tears or grubbiness. Lightest wear only.
Overall impression would suggest that this model was removed from a factory over-wrap of 6 and then stored away until now.
