Notes

A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.

A most desirable Corgi set – and so difficult to find in this condition! Carefully handled and stored and looking as if the contents have rarely been taken out of the crisp, clean and bright box!

The set comprises:

1) Batmobile in gleaming gloss black finish with both original figures of Batman and Robin. Tow hook version. A particularly difficult find with authentic bright red tyres, silver wheel detail. Gleaming chrome, bright gold parts. Correct that this version has less pointed rear fins and very bright gold parts. Couple of small marks only to the paint finish. Suspension is fine on all four well-shaped original red tyres.

2) Batboat sits atop the gold trailer with cast wheels. Complete with both seated figures of Batman and Robin. More desirable ‘tin fin’ version (later issues were plastic). Little oxidisation to the trailer axle.

Complete with a bright unopened Secret Instruction Packet which contains missiles, badge and Instructions.
Both items sit in a very clean and fresh polystyrene inner (small portion missing, probably as-made – minor).

The colourful outer box is in remarkable fresh and bright condition with smooth, original unpunctured cellophane. Minor tear emanating from an end flap. Day-one vivid colours and the card is crisp.

An exceptional set from this collector – one of the best examples you will ever find.
