C228
Corgi 228 Volvo P.1800. RARE SALMON PINK issue. Very near mint/boxed ( wear but complete). From a large stunning collection with many items in old shop stock condition.
Notes
From one of the largest, private collections we have ever seen, with many items bought new at the time and stored away until now. Taken as a whole, the collection provides an exciting, kaleidoscopic snapshot of popular diecast toys issued during the 1960?s -1970?s.
Issued between 1962-65 in a variety of colour finishes, this salmon pink finish being the most difficult to find. After 1965, this car became the Saint’s Volvo (renumbered Corgi 258).
This example is in all original, close to mint condition with a bright lemon interior and original silver detailing at the raised bodylines and bumpers. Suspension on shiny shaped spun hubs and the supple original tyres are well-shaped ( couple of faint crazing lines on one).
Displays well in this distinctive colour finish.
Looks like a cherished piece with the addition of the Corgi accessory labels (e.g. tax disc, number plates) which can be removed if desired. Hard to fault otherwise.
The box is complete and bright. All end flaps are intact, although rather worn now with a little edge rubbing and a couple of creases. Note the little white label at an end flap. Small end flap has a tear. Corgi Club Membership Form is included.
