D965
Dinky 965 Euclid Rear Dump Truck. Near mint plus/boxed with card packing piece. Scarce, late issue with window glazing, red-backed Logo and PLASTIC winding handle cuff. From a beautiful, single-owner collection, some 25 years in the making.
Notes
This is a scarce late issue, made at the end of the production run (1959-61) with window glazing, a red-backed ‘Euclid’ logo at the sides and a plastic winding handle cuff. Such a fine Supertoy from Dinky’s heyday; surely every child from the mid 50’s-60’s remembers it well! Very difficult to find absolutely mint. The truck has a lovely, bright, light yellow, (notably) all-original paint finish, virtually complete- complete “Euclid” lettering, logo, and wording on both sides.
A super display piece with a rich fresh lustre – faring better than many we have seen (so often found quite heavily marked or with touch-ins).
A few incidental marks only. Of course, there are the unavoidable contact marks caused by the operation of the tipping mechanism (but only visible when the tipping section is raised). The occasional little edge chip besides. Mechanism for raising and lowering the tipper works well.
The striped Supertoys box is bright, fresh and clean – and thankfully puncture-free! Comes with the often missing card packing piece too. Note the green colour spot (denoting lead-free paint) at one lid end.
Very nice!
