D901
Dinky 501/901 Foden Diesel 8-Wheel Wagon. Red & fawn, 2nd type. From 1954. Very, very near mint/boxed.
Notes
Issued during 1954 under this dual-numbering, this classic Dinky truck has a red cab and chassis, greyish-brown or earth back, grooved red Supertoy hubs. In all original condition throughout, with a fine lustre to the paint finish. Bright baseplate too:
Just a few little marks as you might expect at a couple of wheel arches and at a bumper corner edge. Tiny casting mark at the roof edge. Vibrant day-one colours show that this item has been carefully handled and stored.
The striped, dual-numbered Supertoys box is complete, clean and vividly-coloured. Minor age wear only. Note that the paper label is at an angle (factory- applied) at a short lid end. Minor scuffing on the deep blue base underside. Faint-pencilled number on the lid.
What a super item on display!
