D919
Dinky 919 Guy Van "Golden Shred". Near mint/boxed. From 1957. One of the most eye-catching Dinky Advertising Vans from The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1957-58, the golden age of Dinky! This is one of the most eye-catching Dinky models you can buy and it is always an exciting find. This sought-after van has an original red paint finish throughout and highly decorative transfers on both sides. Note that there is a very small portion of the foot of the Golly missing on one side and a thin scratch through the head on the other. Wonderfully vibrant, unfaded original paint finish throughout. Bright base.
A very few tiny marks to the paint finish – and of course, the Van is notably without retouching (sadly, not often the case with these high profile Vans). Couple of light tyre flat spots.
The box presents very well indeed – vibrant colours on clean, undamaged card. Barely any wear at all – not even any of the usual rubbing to the underside of the deep blue (unfaded) box base! Light storage crease. This example is dated from 1957 (Dinky stamp on the inside of the box lid).
A highlight in any collection.
