C468
Corgi 468 London Transport Routemaster Bus "Madame Tussaud's". 1970 issue with clear stairs, window box. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce! From a large, stunning diverse collection with many items in old shop stock condition.
Notes
From one of the largest, private collections we have ever seen, with many items bought new at the time and stored away until now. Taken as a whole, the collection provides an exciting, kaleidoscopic snapshot of popular diecast toys issued during the 1960?s -1970?s.
Issued during 1970, this is an early Routemaster Bus with all the nice details not present in the later issues. Complete labels throughout. Cast wheels. Conductor and driver. Ribbed roof (without the usual box rubs!), jewelled headlights. Cream interior, clear staircase.
Looks as if it has been out of the box once or twice – ever.
A couple of minor marks to the paint finish if one really looks for them! Note the slight age transparency to the Corgi advertisement labels head-on.
The cellophane-fronted box is crisp and fresh with colours that have lost none of their vibrancy. Smooth original cellophane.
Barely any age wear at all. Resistant end flaps. Remains of a price label at an end flap.
Not an easy variation to find.
