D281
Dinky 281 Luxury Coach. Scarce issue in cream with orange flash. Near mint plus/boxed. From a collection in Berlin.
Notes
Issued between 1954-59 in various colour finishes, this example is one of the harder to find versions in cream (not the darker fawn version) with deep orange side flashes, cream wheels.
Presents well with a nice lustre.
Note the later addition of an indicator light detail (little faint, stray smudge of this colour on the roof). Little tarnishing (as is often the case) to the front ‘number plate’ area. Original smooth tyres are without flat spots.
The box is complete, and strongly -coloured, with the correct colour spot. A touch grubby now with a little edge rubbing at one top edge. Little fleck of surface loss. Minor handling wear besides. Period pencilled price at an end flap.
