D512
Dinky 512 Guy Flat Truck. Near mint plus/boxed with packing card. Early 1st type in French blue & red. From a large, stunning diverse collection with many items in old shop stock condition.
Notes
From one of the largest, private collections we have ever seen, with many items bought new at the time and stored away until now. Taken as a whole, the collection provides an exciting, kaleidoscopic snapshot of popular diecast toys issued during the 1960?s -1970?s.
This Dinky commercial vehicle has an appealing mid (French) blue (not violet or light blue) with a red flatbed, paler blue, grooved Supertoy wheels. Fine, supple, as-new original tyres.
Supertoys on the base, large painted hook, rear axles in cast lugs:
With a delightful lustre throughout, this truck is in all original condition. Few little marks, as you might expect, at some wheel arches. Mere dot or two besides.
The lift-off lid box has such intense colours! The deep blue base in particular is especially noteworthy. Complete paper label and note that this example was originally exported to the U.S. (Hudson Dobson label at one side of the box).
Rusty staples. Minor edge scuff to the lid. Period price label at lid end. Period price label in pencil nearby. Note the period 912 added to the price label as well as the pen marking through the 512 number at lid end.
