D965
Dinky 965 Euclid Rear Dump Truck. Near mint plus/boxed with card packing piece. Scarce with window glazing and red-backed Logo. From The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
This is the slightly later issue, made between 1959-61 with window glazing and a red-backed ‘Euclid’ logo at the sides. Such a fine Supertoy from Dinky’s heyday; surely every child from the mid 50’s-60’s remembers it well! Very difficult to find absolutely mint. The truck has a lovely, bright, light yellow, all-original paint finish, virtually complete- complete “Euclid” lettering, logo, and wording on both sides.
A super display piece with a rich fresh lustre – faring better than many we have seen which are so often found quite heavily marked.
A few incidental marks only. Of course, there are the unavoidable contact marks caused by the operation of the tipping mechanism (but only visible when the tipping section is raised). Couple of little edge chips besides. Mechanism for raising and lowering the tipper works well. Such a bright metal winding handle!
Little area of rough casting on one side.
The striped Supertoys box is bright, fresh and clean. Partial puncture (caused by the winding handle) has pressed back into place. Very minor wear besides. Comes with the often missing card packing piece too.
