Notes
We are very pleased to have for sale a collection of South African Dinky models from a lifelong Dinky collector who has compiled an extensive, high quality diecast collection over decades.
Hard to find in any condition and certainly never in multiples – we are delighted to have for sale 13 boxed South African Dinky models! Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there, largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box.
Finished in original mid-blue with shiny spun wheels, silver trim, gloss base, South African rivets, and treaded original white tyres.
In excellent plus, original condition:
Few little marks and a paint blemish on a door (driver’s side).
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is clean and brightly-coloured.
Lacks all the small end flaps now however and one large end flap has been re-attached. Coupe of small tears besides. Tape residue visible at an end flap and continuing on to the box underside.
A rare Dinky model.
