D501
Dinky 501 Foden Diesel 8-Wheel Wagon. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce version in dark grey and red. From The European Collection.
Notes
An early classic Foden model – this particular version was made between 1947-48 only. It has a close to perfect, distinctive dark grey cab and back with a red flash, chassis and hubs.
Correct with no tank slits or chain post bosses on the base, small tow hook. Complete with all original radial tyres including the spare. 20mph sign in place on a rear wheel arch.
Very few marks indeed – this example presents well. Couple of raised casting dots on the roof. On closest inspection, there is a little rough casting at the back edges of the rear wheel arches. Uneven paint finish at this site (probable factory retouch).
The deep green box with a paper label is brightly-coloured and intact with no splits or repairs . Few little edge nicks to the paper label. Period penned price.
