The Grove Collection - an awe-inspiring Treasure Trove of Corgi Toys
A collection of approximately 400 models – this impressive Corgi Collection is the result of many years of concerted searching from this dedicated husband and wife team.
The love for Corgi Toys nearly always starts in childhood, with collectors often remembering so clearly the toys they loved to play with and those they wanted so much and were never quite lucky enough to get for their birthday or Christmas.
The die was cast (forgive the pun) for the gentleman in question here whose mother sent off for his Corgi Club Membership when he was just 18 months old! He still has his Collector’s Certificate by the way.
“Mum continued to buy Corgi Toys for me for many years after and I would always have a new model at birthdays & Xmas time. I still have all those playworn models and can remember when, where or who bought them for me”.
So it is fair to say that he was bitten by the collecting bug at an early age. What good fortune then that his wife quickly became enamoured by Corgi Toys when she started going to toy fairs with him too!

i) The solid silver version of Corgi 200 British Leyland Mini 1000. Originally sold by QDT as part of The Monty Calme Collection.
ii) Very scarce Point of Sale Promotional Card Stand for the Trans-o-Lite models.
iii) Pre-production colour trial for Corgi Circus Land Rover with Animal Cage with ‘Mothercare’ labels. An extremely scarce item originally sold through auction and part of the property of Marcel Van Cleemput, chief designer for Corgi. Originally sold by QDT as part of The Monty Calme Collection.
iv) Corgi Promotion with ‘Co-op 99 TEA’ from 1971.
